BioHello everyone, Gilmore Girls fans and otherwise. This entire journal is dedicated to my new fic, A Stranger in Autumn, featuring a Literati-based triangle (Rory and Jess) including Logan.
On reading a spoiler or two regarding Jess' return, I knew Amy'd fuck it up. So I decided to write my own version before that happened. I miss Lit and I saw the triangle between Rory, Jess, and Logan right away - this fascinating slam of a scene before my eyes - and I thought,
oh my. Tasty.
I can't say I like Logan; I could say I like Jess' magnetic pull on Rory, and the way he always seems to want her when she's with someone else. Or how she wants him when she's with someone else. Or how, in my perfect world, they should never be together, but always be having an affair. So, expect angst, but expect fluff, and searing, burning unrequited love, and then love requited, mystery, hiding, dodging Richard and Emily, making peace with failure, and Rory learning to love words and literature - writing - all over again.
It's just what needed to happen. Besides, can Logan and Jess possibly be more perfect enemies? Do enemies emit sparks? Does the girl standing between them end up taking the punches? Should Tristan have a cameo? How ridiculously dirty, delicious and poetic can the whole thing get?
Very.
There'll be all kinds of tasty tidbits on this journal that don't fit on fanfiction.net, where the original story is posted - also, all the smut not allowed on ffnet will happily reside here. I'll put links to every new chapter as it goes up, but I'll also provide visuals in connection to the story, post good reviews I get, put up links to other journals/stories/sites with merit, and hold discussions about plot points and other possibilities.
I want the journal to be a
HAVEN for all disillusioned fans that loved the Rory/Jess relationship, are dissapointed with the current state of the show, and are faintly disgusted at Logan's perfectly waxed chest.
However, it's also a great place for anyone who loves a well written story about an angsty love triangle between a once-bookish, sweet girl - now WASP princess/Yale dropout, a bad-boy lost love who returns having made something of himself (an author, namely), and wants her (the inaccesible girl of his dreams) back. Then there's the third spoke, the aimless, witty, empty rich boy, who in all his glory finds himself trapped in a jewel box life and realizes he's fucked up the only truly great girl he's ever met. And, that he's having some strange feelings towards the Bukowski-esque hotshot writer being published by his daddy's company that he's been assigned to.
IN CONCLUSION:
There are hundreds upon hundreds of you that've left me over a thousand reviews, that visited One Year in droves (over 50,000 hits in one.5 years!), who enjoyed secretstar's art and archived me on your personal sites, who wrote me encouraging e-mails. I owe a lot to all of you, and I hope you enjoy this last fic.
